The Planning & Zoning Department strives to support responsible, sustainable growth in Buhl. By implementing the City’s Comprehensive Plan and Title 9 of the Buhl City Code, we ensure that developments within city limits align with the community’s vision and goals.

Key Duties:
  • Enforce land use regulations for all properties within city limits. 
  • Provide recommendations to the Planning & Zoning Commission and City Council on land use issues.
  • Maintain zoning ordinances and land use regulations created by the Commission and City Council.
  • Collaborate with developers, architects, and the public to ensure new projects comply with local regulations and positively impact the community.
  • Review and process land use applications.
  • Hold public hearings.
  • Investigate and resolve zoning complaints.

  • ​This link does not schedule building inspections or meetings with the inspector.
  • Appointments with insufficient details or that need additional departments involved may be rescheduled.
  • Large permits and zoning issues require an appointment.
  • Call   City Hall if you're unsure about your appointment needs.
  • Permit drop-offs do not need appointments. Such can be made at City Hall during business hours or by email.
